Drink Me Eat Me, Ravenscourt Park

Every time we miss a parcel delivery it goes to this rubbish depot that pretty much only opens during the convenient hours of 7am-1pm. Every time I end up endeavouring on a shin splint worthy powerwalk there & back, I pass this really cute cafe in Ravenscourt Park.
It's called 'Drink me, Eat me' and although it sounds a bit naughty it's a total children-loving yummy mummy brunch spot. My pal Rachel and I went for munch and a coffee.

P.s Thinking about moving to Ravenscourt Park. They play classical music in the tube station. How civilised?!

Pizzeria Rustica, Richmond

To sum up this month, I've been to Lagos a few times and have quickly become a bit too indulgent, eating out and ordering pizza. When in London, eh? These days I'm carrying my camera everywhere to try and get better taking photos so unfortunately for everyone on my Facebook friends list I'm spamming the hell out of newsfeeds worldwide.

Ok, to the point. Last night I went for Italian in Richmond with friends from my original training group. These guys are a total laugh and it's such a pain that we have such conflicting rosters most of the time. If it were up to me we'd be out and about together every time we're all free.

Paul and Justin had suggested we go to Pizzeria Rustica so booked the table and showed up early while Fernanda and I searched the streets for its location to later realise it's RIGHT beside Richmond tube station. You would definitely just stroll by without noticing this place because of its quaint facade. Some of us showed up a bit further on than the rest so we had to order a few bottles of wine and regulate the levels of intoxication.

Why, hello cutie.
I think Paul caught a glimpse of the food at the next table. Dreamy.

Everyone ordered pizza apart from myself. I am back to opting for vegetarian options after my few days of meat overload and there was only one veggie pizza other than the margarita that I didn't fancy. I instead had the spinach risotto which was an absolute winner. It was quite light and easy to finish unlike some risotto I've had in the past where you have to contemplate having a lie down before struggling home.

Justin had the Pizza 2005 which saw cheese replaced with seafood and looked delicious.
Fernanda assured us the veggie pizza was scrumptious while sporting her Rio-licious sunkissed face.
Slurp, slurp.
We ended up pretty well hydrated (with wine) and were probably the loudest table in the restaurant.

When the coffees and limoncello came I had another wine. It was a beautiful get together and as soon as our schedules for next month are released I'll be hoping to make some more plans with these guys.
A final thought, how cute is my friend Fernanda? Form an orderly queue gentlemen.

Shake that Shack

Ever since the day that Jamie was assistant to a food critic writing a piece on burgers I've been hearing the name 'Shake Shack' ringing in my ears frequently. While the said article didn't rate their burgers hugely, after having about 4 burgers in a day, Jamie was sold on Shake Shack.

We were hungover. It was morning. We were heading home from north London. He pulled me off the tube at Covent Garden just before the door closed. We were going to Shake Shack.

Jamie looks way better hungover than I do.
Hurry up food! Seriously, I'm about to throw this buzzer off the wall.
Okay 5 minute wait totally worth it. Our two Shack Stacks have arrived!
Look at that breaded portobello mushroom oozing with cheese on the inside. Fantastic. I also really loved the bun on this burger. Oh, so soft and fluffy.
That really didn't take long, did it? Satisfied?
So satisfied!
Ok, lets go home for a nap. It's almost afternoon.

Big Easy, Chelsea

I've now lived in London for just over 10 months. Right at the beginning, when we moved into our place, the previous tenant told us about Big Easy in Chelsea where they have amazing specials on certain nights. On a Thursday you can be served Steak, Lobster and a frozen margarita or beer for £19.95.
Having fully intended to frequent this place every couple of weeks, it's a crying shame that it was only last week that I visited for the first time. My wee pal Slimmy was back from her holiday in Vietnam and that was reason enough for us to go out for a catchup and fill ourselves to the brim. I've not been eating meat recently so I struggled a little bit at putting it away even though it was absolutely delicious. Moving was difficult once we cleared our plates but let's face it, I couldn't exactly show up at a Steakhouse and order a salad.

Get the orders in lads!
BIG EASY BIBS
Frozen Margaritas Please!
Enjoying that Rachey?
Mhmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I ordered blue cheese sauce with my steak and am obviously finding it hilarious here.
Obviously really healthy there with the salad and potato instead of chips.
We called up around 4pm to book a table. They were booked out. We showed up and shared a bottle of wine while we waited about an hour for a table. We really built the grub up as something worth waiting for and Steak and Lobster night did not disappoint.
